eGovernment

The aim of the National Geodata Strategy is among other things to contribute to the Swedish eGovernment. The Geodata Strategy and the developing infrastructure will contribute to the development of eGovernment and the development of the service sector within the field.

eGovernment is about using tools and systems to provide better public services to citizens and businesses.

The Swedish Government keep up to improve the steering of the authorities' work with eGovernment. The aim is to make it as simple as possible for as many as possible to exercise their rights and to complete their obligations, and benefit from the services of the eGovernment.

The objectives of eGovernment

The development of e-services is a vital part of the strategy for the Swedish Government. E-services should:

  • be easy to use and find
  • manage to be used in a secure way, provide transparency, be accessible and managed with selected tools
  • be conducted by the users' needs

The preconditions to reach the objectives are cooperating authorities with focus on the users.
