Implementing rules

The INSPIRE-directive comprises five main areas which are the basis for the so called implementing rules:

  • Metadata
  • Data specifications
  • Network services
  • Data and service sharing
  • Monitoring and reporting

An implementing rule comprises an EU-ordinance or decision, and presents the requirements for the different parts of the infrastructure.

Decisions on implementing rules are made according to the INSPIRE Roadmap.
